Everyone is welcome to worship with us!
You do not have to be a member of Tenple Shalom to attend services; however, if you are interested in membership, please visit our membership page for additional information.
The appropriate dress for our services is business casual, but our dress code is a little more relaxed during the summer. Women can wear slacks. Yarmulke and tallit are not required during services, but we have both available for your use. If you are a tourist, please feel free to come as you are!
Throughout the year we have an oneg shabbat following services. If you would care to sponsor an oneg, please contact our Temple office.
As part of our services we honor our departed loved ones by reading yahrzeit names.
At Temple Shalom, we celebrate our Jewish holidays with style. We have special holiday services and events throughout the year in addition to extensive services during the High Holy Days. Specifics about holiday events will be provided when appropriate on the Upcoming Events page.
Please be sure to refer to the information on the Upcoming Events page of our site for current scheduling.
Our "Regular" Shabbat Evening Service
We welcome Shabbat on Friday evenings services that begin at 8:00 pm. This service is of a traditional classical Reform worship style. It may be accompanied by keyboard with an emphasis on congregational singing. We encourage congregational participation and welcome visitors. Guests of all denominations are always welcome, and encouraged to join us for the oneg following services.
Family Shabbat
A special celebration where young children (five years and younger) can learn about and celebrate Shabbat. This child-friendly short service includes story telling, traditional prayer and song. After this brief service in the sanctuary with our rabbi, families join together for a covered dish dinner. These Family Shabbat programs are held on the First Friday of each month beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Our High Holy Day Services
Our hospitality never diminishes, especially during the High Holy Days, but like everyone else we do have certain procedures to follow for seating at our services.
Temple Shalom does not issue or sell tickets for admission to our High Holy Day services, but seating preferences are given to our members and their guests, affiliated members who have contacted us and then to non-members.
If you are affiliated with a synagogue and are interested in attending our High Holy Days services, please click here.
